As I dig a little deeper, I realize that I am always expressing the same thing, even if the form changes.
Emmanuel Gimeno is a French visual artist born in 1968.
He graduated with distinction from the École des Beaux-Arts de Troyes in 1990, where he initially focused on painting and drawing. He later turned to photography, which became central to his artistic practice.
For over thirty years, Gimeno pursued an international career in photography and creative direction, working between Paris and New York. His work spanned fashion imagery and photojournalism, with contributions to publications including Harper’s Bazaar, Spoon Magazine, and Libération, among others.
In his personal work, Gimeno moves between images, painting, collage, text, and installation. Through fragmentation, the reworking of visual material, handwritten words, and raw textures, he explores themes of love, loss, and memory, drawing on his own experience and the chaotic nature of life.
He currently lives and works in the South of France. © 2026
